BENHART & BOSCH RECOGNIZED, SDSU 2ND IN LEAGUE PRESEASON POLL

 SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The Summit League announced its Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll, along with the conference's Players to Watch List, on Tuesday ahead of the 2026 season which begins this week.Â

South Dakota State was picked to finish second in the 2026 Summit League Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Jackrabbits received two first-place votes for 44 points. SDSU was narrowly edged by Oral Roberts which received 48 points behind six first-place votes.Â
Â
The Golden Eagles were the 2025 Summit League regular season champions. The Jackrabbits have won the conference's tournament title three consecutive seasons and four out of the last five years.Â

Rounding out the coaches' poll were Omaha (33), South Dakota (30), Kansas City (27), North Dakota State (20), North Dakota (14) and St. Thomas (8).Â

Mallorie Benhart and Mia Bosch were chosen as SDSU's Players to Watch in The Summit League.

Benhart was the 2025 Summit League Goalkeeper of the Year. The SDSU senior, entering her second season in Yellow and Blue, started all 20 matches she appeared in a season ago. She recorded a 0.71 goals against average and a .859 save percentage while accumulating a 12-3-5 record. She was bestowed All-Summit League First Team honors, was picked to the Summit League All-Newcomer Team and was a 2025 Summit League All-Tournament Team selection. Benhart was chosen as KwikStar Summit League Defensive Peak Performer of the Week on three occasions.Â

Bosch enters her third season at South Dakota State. The junior midfielder was an All-Summit League Second Team selection in 2025. Bosch started all 22 matches for the Jackrabbits and led the squad and The Summit League in assists with nine. That total was 19th most nationally and fifth most in a single season individually in program history. Bosch also scored three goals to tie for a team-high 15 points. She claimed a KwikStar Summit League Offensive Peak Performer of the Week nod once.

South Dakota State opens its 2026 season in Brookings at Fishback Soccer Park on Thursday. The Jackrabbits host Manitoba at 7 p.m. then take on MSU Moorhead in Brookings at 1 p.m. on Sunday.Â
