BROOKINGS, S.D. – The South Dakota State men's basketball team looks ahead to its 2026-27 season as the Jackrabbits completed their schedule for the upcoming campaign.
SDSU officially begins its second season under the direction of head coach
Bryan Petersen on Tuesday, Nov. 3, when the Jackrabbits pay a visit to Kansas State. It'll be the Jackrabbits fifth all-time trip to Manhattan and first since the 2023-24 season.
The Jacks make their home debut on Nov. 6 against Briar Cliff. SDSU stays in Brookings for its next matchup on Nov. 11 as the Yellow and Blue hosts Missouri Valley Conference foe Valparaiso in First Bank & Trust Arena.
South Dakota State heads back to The Monument in Rapid City to take on Northern Colorado on Saturday, Nov. 14. A rematch of sorts, with the two previously squaring off in Summit Arena in 2024, was previously announced. Tickets are currently on sale for the game on

The Jackrabbits play four consecutive games on South Dakota as they return to Brookings to host Mayville State on Nov. 16. They then hit the road for a single game at Idaho State on Nov. 20.
SDSU will play an in-season home-and-home series against Abilene Christian. The Jackrabbits will host the Wildcats on Nov. 25, then travel down to Texas to play in ACU's Moody Coliseum on Dec. 5.
Between those two dates, South Dakota State will participate in the inaugural Second Line Showcase. The multi-team event takes place in New Orleans and has the Jackrabbits competing on back-to-back days. SDSU plays at 4:30 p.m. in each contest, first taking on South Alabama on Nov. 28, followed by Fresno State on Nov. 29. Event information, fan packages and more are available on the

South Dakota State hosts three consecutive games beginning with a Dec. 8 matchup versus Milwaukee. The Jackrabbits follow that with a rematch versus Big Sky Conference champion Idaho on Dec. 12, then close the stretch out against Buena Vista on Dec. 14.
The Jackrabbits have two road games remaining in their non-conference schedule. SDSU travels to Eastern Kentucky for a Dec. 18 clash. The Jacks return to Reno, Nev., two seasons after making a trip to the Lawlor Events Center for a rematch against the Wolf Pack on Dec. 29.
South Dakota State plays on Dec. 21 in Sioux Falls at the Sanford Pentagon against Green Bay. Tickets for the contest will go on sale later this month. SDSU begins the New Year by closing out its non-conference slate. The Jackrabbits host Dakota Wesleyan on Jan. 2 inside First Bank & Trust Arena.
The Summit League schedule, which was previously announced, begins on Jan. 7. The Jackrabbits open conference play at Kansas City.
The 2026-27 season culminates on March 4 with The Summit League Basketball Championship in Sioux Falls at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.
