EDINBURG, Texas ? South Dakota State left the freezing plains of South Dakota for the much warmer plains of south Texas, but like so many other teams to take the floor at the UTPA Fieldhouse, the Jackrabbits received a chilly reception from the Texas Pan-American Broncs as the Jacks dropped their fifth straight game 63-50.
SDSU fell to 5-20 and lost its fifth straight game Thursday night in Edinburg, Texas to UTPA, who improved to 11-1 at home and 13-11 overall.

The Jacks battled back and cut the lead to three points ten minutes later on two Mackenzie Casey Steals and six Mackenzie Casey points.
Up by 12 points in the final seconds, Thomas Bassett cut the UTPA halftime lead to ten points on a last second buzzer beater.
The Broncs' lead did not get any higher than 12, but no lower than four points in the second half until UTPA's Paul Stoll hit a pair of free throws and a three-pointer with 2:37 left in the game to seal the win.
Jose Frias led the Jackrabbits in scoring with 12 points and added a team high six rebounds while Casey and Garrett Callahan each added 11 points for the Jacks, who shot 40.4 percent (19-of-47) from the field.
