Ames, Iowa ? The South Dakota State men's and women's track teams traveled to Ames, Iowa and hung tough against solid competition.
On the women's side, Heather Wollman missed setting a school record in the 200-meter dash by .06 seconds and finshed with a time of 24.68 seconds. The fourth-place finish is good for second all-time at SDSU.
Brittany Garner also blazed into the record books turning in the fifth fastest 200 meter time in SDSU history. Her time was 25.47 seconds and finished in ninth.
In the women's weight throw, Sara Ackman and Christa Landmark made the top-10 list with throws of 54 feet 9.25 inches and 47 feet 8 inches, respectively. Ackman's toss is fourth all-time while Landmark's is good for ninth.
