For the second straight home game, South Dakota State hosts the Mustangs, but this time the Mustangs hail from Cal Poly, who come to Brookings for the rematch of last season's ESPNU BracketBuster game in San Luis Obispo, Calif., a game that Cal Poly won by the score of 66-62. The Jacks trailed by as many as 15 points in the first half of that game, but battled back to take the lead in the second half, before the Mustangs sealed the win with a late run.
The Jackrabbits return home this week for a two game homestand after a tough 92-72 loss at Nevada on Saturday in Reno, where the SDSU starting lineup combined for 24 points compared to 70 from the Nevada starting five.
Nate Wolters led the way for the Jackrabbits with a career-high 15 points off the bench and tied a career mark with six assists in the loss.
A starter in the last two games, Michael Palarca scored just three points in the game on 1-of-4 shooting, but he dished out five assists and committed just two of the Jacks 19 turnovers. Anthony Cordova finished with 10 points as the only other Jackrabbit to score in double figures.
In the Jacks last home game on Tuesday, SDSU posted a Division I-high 95 points in a 95-70 win over Southwest Minnesota State. Garrett Callahan scored a personal and team season-high 27 points in the win to lead four Jackrabbits in double figures. Kai Williams added 16 points, Tony Fiegen added 11 and Clint Sargent 10 points in the win
For the season, Garrett Callahan leads the Jacks with 12.5 points per game. Cordova adds a 10.1 points and a team-high 4.7 rebounds per game, while Clint Sargent adds 9.7 points per game. Palarca leads the Jacks with 31 assists.
RABBITS ON THE RADIO - All Jackrabbit men's basketball games, home and on the road, can be heard live on AM 570 WNAX, with Steve Imming doing the play-by-play. The pre-game show begins 15 minutes before tipoff.
Select Jackrabbit games can also be heard on KRKI, ESPN Radio 99.5 FM in Rapid City.

NAGY TO COACH BAREFOOT FOR SAMARITAN'S FEET - SDSU head coach Scott Nagy, along with the South Dakota Basketball Coaches Association and high school coaches throughout the state, teamed up with Samaritan's Feet to raise money and shoes for children all over the world.
All of the coaches from the SDBCA agreed to coach a game barefoot between Jan. 14-23, culminating with coach Nagy coaching barefoot at Frost Arena on Jan. 23, when the Jackrabbits host Oakland.

SENIORS CLIMB THE 1,000 POINT CLUB LADDER - Seniors Garrett Callahan and Kai Williams both joined the SDSU 1,000-Point Club last year as juniors and started their climb up the all-time points ladder.
Callahan started the season ranked 25th all-time with 1,092 points, but already moved up to 16th on the list with 1,217 points. Williams started the season 26th all-time with 1,091 point, and starts the week ranked 18th all-time with 1,186 points.
SARGENT CLOSES IN ON 1,000 POINTS - Jackrabbit junior Clint Sargent entered the season with 652 points, 348 shy of becoming the 41st member of the SDSU 1,000 Point Club. His 95 points so far this season gives him 749 career-points, 251 points shy of joining the club. Sargent scored 244 points as a freshman, 408 as a sophomore and ranks second on the team this season with 10.6 points per game.
THIS WEEK'S OPPONENTS
Cal Poly Mustangs (2-5, 0-0 Big West, 0-5 Away) - The Mustangs return to the road after a 10-day break, but they do so without a road win, as they opened the 2009-10 season with five straight road losses. They quickly regrouped at home though, and started their first winning streak with home wins over Seattle University and Pepperdine
Lorenzo Keeler leads two Mustangs averaging in double figures with 12.3 points per game over the first seven games while Will Donahue adds 11.7 points and a team-high 8.6 rebounds per game. Shawn Lewis adds 9.1 points per game and leads the team with 16 assists.
The Series vs. Cal Poly - Cal Poly won the first and only meeting between the teams last year, when the Mustangs downed the Jacks 66-62 in the ESPNU BracketBuster game on Feb. 21, 2009 in San Luis Obispo, Calif.
Central Michigan Chippewas (4-5, 0-0 MAC, 1-4 Away) - Saturday's game against the Jacks represents the third of six straight road games for the Chippewas, who picked up their first road win in five tries on Sunday with a 59-56 win over South Florida.
A starter in all nine games, Robbie Harman leads the Chippewas offense with 14.6 points per game, with 32 assists and with 20 steals. Jordan Bitzer averages 10.8 points per game, ranks second on the team with 21 assists and with 12 steals. Jalin Thomas adds 7.8 points per game and leads the team with 6.7 rebounds per game.
The Series vs. Central Michigan - The Jacks won the first and only meeting between the two teams 84-81 on Dec. 18, 1967, at the Wayne State Classic in Detroit, Mich.
NEXT UP FOR THE JACKRABBITS - The Jackrabbits return to action on Saturday at 7 p.m., when they welcome the Central Michigan Chippewas to Frost Arena.
SDSU returns to the road next week for a Wednesday night game at Minnesota on Dec. 23, before they open the home conference schedule against Oral Roberts on New Year's Eve.
