For the second straight day, the South Dakota State Women's Swimming and Diving team defeated St. Louis, 145-98, to end the regular season home meet schedule at the Stanley J. Marshall HPER Center Pool on Sunday morning.
The Jacks would win the first six events and 10 of 13 on the way to their seventh win of the season.
SDSU took the first two spots in the opening 200 medley relay with Jessica Ferly, Katie Budahl, Ashley Valdez and Anna Howard clocking in at 1 minute, 51.57 seconds. The second place team to finished in 1:55.94 consisted of Lisa Newberger, Emily Tschetter, Kylie Poel and Kayleigh Boucher.
Budahl would win her 11th career 100 breaststroke event, clocking in at 1:05.38. Howard would record her first individual event with a 50 freestyle time of 25.51 sec. Ferley would add her name to the win column with a 1:00.97 in the 100 backstroke.
Alexandra Hoffman ended the weekend with a pair of freestyle wins; the 200 freestyle in 1:56.56 and the 100 freestyle in 54.89 sec. The junior also started for the winning 200 freestyle relay team along with Howard, Valdez and Rachel Musser in 1:41.29.
On senior day, a couple of seniors had winning times as Christina Gerometta finished the 1650 freestyle in 18:42.00 and Emily Tschetter won the 400 IM in 4:44.08
In 1-meter diving, newcomer Erin Eagen put up an impressive 230.93 points on the way to her first ever victory.
SDSU (7-5-1) will return to the pool with a double dual against North Dakota and South Dakota in Grand Forks, S.D. on Jan. 30 to wrap up the dual season.
