FARGO, N.D. - North Dakota State completed a three game sweep over South Dakota State on Monday at the Ellig Sports Complex in Fargo, N.D., when the two-time Summit League champion Bison downed the Jackrabbits 11-0 in five innings.
The loss drops the Jacks to 9-35 on the season overall, 6-12 in The Summit League, while NDSU improves to 23-22 overall and 13-5 in league play.
Whitney Johnson won all three games for the Bison in the series, walking one and allowing just an Ashley Durazo single in the win on Monday. She also struck out six over five innings of work.
Pam Nicholson takes the loss for SDSU. She gave up four runs on five hits with three walks and a pair of strikeouts in three and two-thirds innings. Kori Seidlitz pitched a third of an inning in the loss, giving up seven runs on three hits and five walks.
The Jacks hit the road for a doubleheader at Nebraska on Wednesday in Lincoln, Neb., at 3 and 5 p.m., before returning home for the final eight games of the season, starting with a Summit League doubleheader on Friday against Western Illinois.
