GRAND FORKS, N.D. - Morgan McLain won two individual events and assisted in a relay victory, but the South Dakota State University women's swimming and diving team dropped a 164.5-129.5 decision at North Dakota Friday night.
A senior from Pierre, McLain won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 58.88 seconds and later added a victory in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4 minutes, 35.14 seconds. McLain opened her evening by swimming the leadoff leg of the Jackrabbits' victorious 400 medley relay, teaming with Kaitlyn Hemmingson, Ashley Valdez and Kaylin Caron for a winning time of 3:57.77.
Hemmingson was the lone other individual winner for the Jackrabbits, claiming the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:06.50.
SDSU, which completed the dual season with a 6-6 mark, is slated to compete in the Minnesota Challenge Feb. 3-4 in Minneapolis.
