Lynn leads the Jackrabbits
IOWA CITY, Iowa—In its regular-season finale, the South Dakota State men's golf team finished 14th at the Hawkeye Invitational Sunday afternoon.
The Jackrabbits turned in their best round of the invitational, shooting a final-round 295 to finish with a 901 (301-305-295) on the par-72, 7,239-yard course. Kansas won the event, shooting a 15-under par 849 (282-291-276). Iowa State's Ruben Sondjaja was medalist, firing a 10-under par 206 (70-70-66).
Freshman Jaxon Lynn (Sylvan Lake, Alberta) was SDSU's top finisher, tying for 42nd (73-76-75=224). Junior Trevor Tobin (Brandon) shot a one-over par 73 in the final round to tie for 49th (80-73-73=226).
Junior Grant Smith (Johnston, Iowa) also shot a one-over par 73 Sunday to tie for 57th (77-77-73). Freshman Alejandro Perazzo (Caracas, Venezuela) tied for 64th (76-79-74) and rookie Felipe Strobach (Lima, Peru) tied for 68th (75-80-76).
The Jackrabbits return to action May 1-3 when they play in The Summit League Championship in Newton, Kan.
