SDSU TAKES SECOND PLACE AT BADGER INVITATIONAL

MADISON, Wisc. – The South Dakota State men's golf team took second place at the Badger Invitational hosted by Wisconsin. The Jacks recorded a final round score of 281 (-7) to bring their tournament total to 847 (-17).
With their second-place finish, SDSU recorded their best team finish since taking the team title at the Jackrabbits Invitational in March. Three Jackrabbits placed inside the top 15 of the tournament.
Southern Miss claimed the team title with an 841 (-23) score over the course of three rounds.
Jake Olson carded the best final round for the Jacks with a 67 (-5) to bring his total tournament score to 209 (-7) as he tied for fourth place overall.
Jacob Wilson followed up his stellar second round with a 71 (-1) for a sixth place finish in the event as he carded a 211 (-5).
Ty Adkins placed 13th with a 214 (-2) after shooting a 70 (-2) in the final round.
Drew Teeter rounded out the final round's scoring for the Jacks with a 73 (+1), while Caleb Kern notched a 75 (+3) in round three.
Charlie Allen competing as an individual finished the event with a 229 (+13).
NOTES
The Jacks will travel to Kildeer, Illinois for the Kemper Lakes Intercollegiate hosted by Belmont on October 5 and 6.

- Olson notched his second straight top-five finish after winning the individual title at the Wildcat Invitational last week in Manhattan, Kansas.
- The Jacks were the top finishers among the six Summit League participant schools at the Badger Invitational.
- Olson and Wilson tied for the second-best performance on Par 4s with an average score of 3.88 strokes.
- Adkins was tied for the most pars during tournament play with 39 total for the event.
