KOHLER, Wis.—The South Dakota State men's golf team played its final round of the season Wednesday, finishing 11th at the NCAA Kohler Regional.
The Jackrabbits finished with an 879 (290-297-292), 21 strokes short of the top five teams who advance to the NCAA Championship in Oregon. No. 4 and top-seeded Illinois won the regional, shooting an 853 on the par-72, 7,123-yard Meadow Valley course at Blackwolf Run. Ohio State's Kee-k Kelly was the individual champion, firing a 209 (70-70-69).
Freshman
Felipe Strobach (Lima, Peru) ended his freshman season strong, tying 12th. He shot a final round one-under par 71 to tie a personal-best with a 215 (74-70-71).
Junior
Grant Smith (Johnston, Iowa) shot a par 72 and finished tied for 21st (69-75-72=216). Rookie
Alejandro Perazzo (Caracas, Venezuela) tied for 52nd with a 223 (71-77-75).
Freshman
Jaxon Lynn (Sylvan Lake, Alberta) tied for 63rd with a 226 (76-76-74) and junior
Trevor Tobin (Brandon) finished 71st (76-76-78=230).
