Fresh off the spring opener last weekend, the South Dakota State women's golf team travels to Arizona for the GCU Invitational, hosted by Grand Canyon University, this weekend.

The Jackrabbits are one of 19 teams playing Saturday and Sunday on the par-72, 6,110-yard GCU Golf Course in Phoenix. SDSU will have 9 a.m. shotgun starts both days.

The field includes Creighton, CSU Bakersfield, CSU Northridge, California Baptist, Eastern Washington, Grand Canyon, Hawaii, Lamar, McNeese State, Montana State, Northern Arizona, Northern Colorado, North Dakota State, Portland State, Seattle, Southern Utah, Toledo and UC Riverside.

Last year, South Dakota State opened the spring season at the GCU Invitational and finished seventh (920) in the 15-team field.
Cassidy Laidlaw led State by firing a 226 (77-75-74) to tie for 19
th. Portland State won the invitational with an 887.

At the spring opener in Georgia last week, junior
Teresa Toscano recorded her fifth top-15 finish of the season, tying for 11
th with a 224 (76-75-73). The Jackrabbits finished 12
th in the 17-team event.

For the season, Toscano leads the team with a 73.3 stroke average and ranks second in The Summit League. Freshman
Mia Seeman is second for the Jacks with a 77.17 stroke average.

The Jackrabbits' 302.8 stroke average ranks third in The Summit League.
