SIOUX CITY, Iowa - The South Dakota State Jackrabbits made the most of their trip to the Sioux City Relays, tallying 17 personal-best marks while freshman
Thomas Breuckman claimed the lone Jackrabbit event title of the day.

Breuckman's win in the 5,000m (15:03.04) is his first solo-event title, winning another two as a member of the distance medley relay and 4x800m relay indoors. He cut 18.19 seconds off his best to claim the title.

Cal Lawton led SDSU in both the 400m and 800m, finishing eighth overall (50.66) with his outdoor and overall personal-best mark. In the 800m, he earned the bronze (1:54.83) for his eighth career outdoor top-three finish.

Teammate, and sophomore, Derek Boekelhiede notched a personal-best in the 800m (1:57.81) behind Lawton for a 15th overall finish.

Nichole Sample scored personal-best marks on the women's side - Van Dyke in the 400m (fourth, 1:00.07), Christoffer (20th, 2:25.31) and Sample in 800m (21st, 2:25.77).

Samuel Coil threw the lone personal-best mark in the shot put (third, 47-10.75), but senior
Logan Ammons earned his fourth career runner-up finish in the hammer throw (187-10.00).

The Jackrabbits are scheduled to compete to make another trip out to California to compete in three meets - the Bryan Clay Invite (April 17-19), the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate (April 18), and the Mt. SAC Relays (April 18-20).
SDSU's schedule will continue to be busy after the second California trip as the team makes another trip to Vermillion on the following Tuesday, the USD Twilight, and then a swing into Iowa at the Drake Relays, starting on Wednesday, and the Kip Janvrin Open, on Thursday and Friday.
