2020-21:

OUTDOOR: Appeared in six meets participating in the 400, 800 meters and 4x400 meter relay...notched her fastest time all year in the 400 meters at the South Dakota Challenge crossing line in 1:06.05.

INDOOR: Competed in three meets participating in the 400 and 800 meters...recorded a season best in the 800 meters at the SDSU Jim Emmerich Invite in a time of 2:52.86...also her quickest 400 meters of the season came at the SDSU Last Chance where she dashed to a 1:06.43.

CROSS COUNTRY: Did not compete.

2019-20:

OUTDOOR: Season canceled

INDOOR: Started the season strong with a lifetime best in the 600 at the SDSU Holiday Invite and Multi (Dec 7) finishing 6th and posting a 1:37.20…finished 4th in the same event at the SDSU DII Classic (Jan 24) in a time of 1:39.75… ran a collegiate best of 1:00.34 for 400 at the Jim Emmerich Invitational (Jan 25).

2018-19:

OUTDOOR: Opened up with a 2:25.92 in the 800m run at the South Dakota Challenge (April 6)…ran season best performances in the 800, 2:25.77 as well as the 400, 1:02.71 at the Sioux City Relays (April 13).

INDOOR: Raced 9 times in her first season as a Jackrabbit, including her season opener of 1:41.56 for 600 at the SDSU Holiday Invite and Multi (Dec 1)… season highlighted by a 1:00.87 for 400 and placing 8th in the event at the SDSU Last Chance Meet (Feb 15).

BEFORE SDSU: Six-time varsity letterwinner in both cross country and track and field ... the cross country team was runner-up in the Minnesota Class AA State Championships in 2015 - the highest team place-finish in school history (Sample - 121st, 20:17.0) ... she was a five-time state participant and the team was a four-time 2AA Section champions ... holds the 4k school record (14:54) and was named as the team captain for three years ... was named all-conference in track and field for 18 events and the team won the their 2AA section in 2018 - the first time in school history ... Sample was a five-time state participant, and the 4x800m relay team was a three-time state medalist ... won the 4x800m relay in the section four times, having the 2AA section and school record (9:16.11) ... the 4x800m relay team was the 2016 Howard Wood Relays champion ... Sample was named Hamline Elite Meet Competitor four times (in 800m and 4x800m relay) ... named track and field’s distance team captain two years and holds the school record as a part of the 4x400m relay team (4:04.90) ... has PR’s of: 4k - 14:54 (2013), 5k - 19:15 (2017), 400m - 59.92 (2018), 800m - 2:16 (2017), 1,600m - 5:19 (2015), 4x800m - 9:16.11 (2017), 4x400m - 4:04.90 (2018) ... awarded National Merit Scholar Letter of Commendation and Yale Book Award ... was top 10 in the class and on the school’s honor roll all four years, finishing as AP Scholar with honors and earned the MHS Hall Award ... two-year National Honor Society member and Character Committee Chairperson ... graduated with high honors ... her mother, Marie Parker Sample, was a six-time all-American at Dakota State University, an elite marathon runner, and a 2008 Olympic Trials marathon competitor ... her great-grandparents and grandparents all attended SDSU... earning a degree in pharmacy
