After a two-month layoff, the South Dakota State University equestrian team returns to action Friday by hosting a pair of head-to-head competitions at DeHaan Equestrian Center.

The Jackrabbits, 2-5 in head-to-head competition so far this season, are scheduled to take on fourth-ranked Georgia (4-3 overall) Friday, followed by a matchup against Minnesota Crookston on Saturday. Both competitions are set to begin at 8 a.m.

SDSU's six seniors will be honored at noon Saturday.

LAST TIME OUT: The Jackrabbits last competed Nov. 21, dropping a jumping seat competition at Sweet Briar (Va.), 6-3.

Sweet Briar built an early lead by winning three of the four points awarded in flat. Aerin Hopkins picked up the lone point for the Jackrabbits in the event with a score of 73.5. Margaret Franke scored a team-best 75, but tied in her matchup against Katherine Atherton.

Hopkins and Franke also earned the Jackrabbits' two points in fences with respective scores of 78 and 76.

On that same trip, SDSU also fell in head-to-head competition to Delaware State (12-6) and UC Davis (13-6) in Dover, Delaware.

A LOOK AHEAD: SDSU is scheduled to compete March 11-12 at UT Martin.
