LARCHWOOD, Iowa - The South Dakota State women's golf team dominated the Fall Jackrabbit Invitational, which wrapped up Sunday at Grand Falls Casino at Golf Resort. SDSU had four players finish in the top five, led by medalist
McKenzie Mages.
SDSU was +60 as a team, finishing 27 shots head of Austin Peay in second place.Â
Mages posted a +11 final scorecard over three rounds with four birdies in windy conditions. She fired a 75 (+3) for her final lap.
Riko Danjo finished runner-up, just one shot behind Mages. The freshman was even par for Sunday's round and finished the weekend with seven birdies.
Hannah Boraas placed fourth (+18) and
Reese Jansa tied for fifth place (+19). Jansa's eight birdies over 54 holes was the most of all players.
Hannah Pettitt rounded out the Jackrabbit team in a tie for 14th place (+35).
Samantha Stites,
Molly O'Hara and
Shelby McCord all competed individually for the Jackrabbits. Stites finished in 10th place, powered by a +4 scorecard on Sunday, her best round of the weekend. McCord finished in 23rd (+58). O'Hara only played Sunday's round and was +8 for the day.
NOTES
This is the third individual victory of Mages' career, moving her into a tie for second place all-time. Teresa Toscano is SDSU's career wins leader with nine from 2016-21.
