INDIANAPOLIS — South Dakota State will travel to Iowa City to face the Hawkeyes as the field of 64 teams, which will compete for the 44th NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship, was announced Monday afternoon by the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Committee. The Jackrabbits and Hawkeyes will square off at the Iowa Soccer Complex at 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14.Â

The Jackrabbits captured The Summit League Championship on Sunday with a 2-0 victory over Oral Roberts in Tulsa. It was the 10th conference tournament title won by SDSU. The Jacks earned their ninth Summit League tournament championship, setting the conference record in the process.

South Dakota State makes its ninth NCAA Tournament appearance on Friday. The Jackrabbits have advanced to the national stage three consecutive seasons. SDSU fell in the NCAA First Round to Nebraska 5-2 in 2023 and at Minnesota a season ago by a 2-0 score.

Iowa earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament after posting an 11-4-4 overall record, including a 6-2-3 mark in Big Ten Conference play, to finish tied for third in the league standings. The Hawkeyes, ranked 21st in the most recent United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Rankings, was awarded a No. 5 seed.

The Jackrabbits and Hawkeyes will meet for the first time since 2009. Iowa holds a 2-1 edge in the all-time series.

First round action will be played November 14-16, while the second/third rounds will be held November 20 and 23, with the quarterfinals on November 28 or 29.

The 44th annual NCAA Women's College Cup will be played Dec. 5 and 8 at CPKC Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri with the University of Kansas and Kansas City Sports Commission serving as hosts. The first national semifinal will be played and broadcast live on ESPNU at 6 p.m. EST on Friday, Dec. 5, followed by the second semifinal beginning at approximately 8:45 p.m. EST live on ESPNU. The national championship match will take place at 7 p.m. EST on Monday, Dec. 8 and will also broadcast live on ESPNU.
