MESA, Ariz. - The South Dakota State women's golf team is set for the 2025 Summit League Championships Sunday through Tuesday at Long Bow Golf Course.Â
The Jackrabbits enter the week as the No. 4 seed and are scheduled to tee off at 7:50 a.m. Mountain Time Sunday morning.Â
SDSU will be led by a pair of All-Summit honorees in
Piper Stubbs and
McKenzie Mages. Stubbs averaged 73.6 strokes over her senior season, which ranks fifth among league golfers, and was an All-Summit First Team selection. She claimed three top-five finishes on the year. Mages landed on the All-Summit Second Team with a 73.7 stroke average this season, ranking sixth in the conference, and had three top-five finishes throughout the year.Â
Molly O'Hara will play in the No. 3 spot this week. The sophomore averaged 76.8 strokes on the year in eight events played.
Shakira-Ann Kuys was just behind with 77.0 shots per round and
Reese Jansa will round out the lineup with 77.2 shots per round this season.Â
LAST TIME OUT
The South Dakota state women's golf team finished in sixth place at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club last week.Â
Piper Stubbs finished in a tie for fifth place with a +2 scorecard, a top-five placing for the third time this year and the second straight event. Stubbs posted an even-par round for the event's final lap and finished with 11 total birdies over three rounds.
McKenzie Mages followed Stubbs, finishing in a tie for 24th place with a +11 three-round tally. Mages tallied par or better on 40 holes.Â
Molly O'Hara tied for 39th (+16),Â
Shakira-Ann Kuys placed 69th (+27) andÂ
Reese Jansa tied for 75th place (+33). The Jackrabbit team posted a 913 (+49) team score 4th the Cowgirl Classic.

CHAMPIONSHIP NOTES
- The 2025 Women's Golf Championship will be the first played at Longbow Golf Course. This year's 54-hole championship will feature a Par-71, 6,138-yard course layout.
- Denver will look to win its sixth consecutive crown and 10th in 12 years as a League member. The Pioneers hoisted the 2024 trophy after finishing the 54-hole event with a tournament-team record total of 850 (-14).
- Leading the Pioneers' efforts during the 2024 Championship was Clara Gestsdottir, who shot a season-best final round 66 (-6) to secure her first collegiate victory and earn Championship MVP honors. She finished the tournament with a 54-hole scoring total of 210 (-6), which was the second lowest individual score in tournament history.
- The Pioneers own the top stroke average entering this year's championship at 291.5Â and have five top-five team finishes on the season, including a runner-up finish in their last outing at the Boilermaker Spring Classic. Gestsdottir also finished runner-up for her best finish of the campaign.
- Denver has two of its five players back from last year's championship lineup as Gestsdottir returns along with Emmy Bryant, who took second a season ago. Both Pioneers earned All-Tournament Team honors in 2024 and were all-league first team performers this season.
- Joining DU's duo as returning all-tournament team honorees is the Oral Roberts' tandem of Avery Blake and Kate Stickland. Blake holds a 72.7Â stroke average on the season with four top-five finishes while Stickland owns a 74.0 average and secured a pair of top-five finishes.
- Oral Roberts, North Dakota State and South Dakota State owned the second, third and fourth-best team stroke averages during the regular season. The Golden Eagles owned a 296.6 stroke average and registered seven top-five finishes as a team.
- Blake owns the Golden Eagles' top scoring average and is third among league golfers with a 72.7 clip.
- Elise Hoven has paced the Bison's effort throughout the season. She led NDSU with a 74.4 stroke average and three top-five finishes, including medalist honors at the NDSU Invitational and the Stampede at the Creek.Â
- As a squad, the Bison put together a 298.0 stroke average and won team titles at the NDSU Invitational and four other top-three finishes.
- South Dakota State follows behind North Dakota State with a 299.2 stroke average. Senior Piper Stubbs has paced the Jackrabbits this season with a stroke average of 73.6 and won her first collegiate event at the Jackrabbit Spring Invitational to go along with three other top-five finishes.
- The Jackrabbits won two team titles during the season, at the Ozarks National Invitational and the Jackrabbits Invitational.
- St. Thomas arrives at the championship with the fifth best team stroke average. The Tommies won their home event this past fall with sophomore Kathryn VanArragon capturing medalist honors.
- Newcomer Katie Ruge has been Omaha's top golfer and led the Mavericks to a pair of team titles during the regular season at the Payne Stewart Memorial and Big O Classic. Ruge earned medalist honors at the Payne Stewart Memorial, tied for third at the Big O Classic and also won the Loyola Parkinson Family Intercollegiate.
- South Dakota brings momentum to Arizona from a team win at the Stampede at the Creek that featured seven teams, including three other Summit squads. Catie Nekola (5th) and Ella Greenberg (7th) posted top-10 finishes to lead the Coyotes to the trophy.
- North Dakota's Kylie Warner won her first collegiate event at the WIU Intercollegiate in early April. Her opening-round 69 (-3) was a career best and helped the Fighting Hawks to their lowest team score of the season (292; +8).Â
