Brookings, S.D. – Due to the cancellation of Friday's SDSU Classic, the Jackrabbits will head to South Sioux City, Nebraska to compete in the Briar Cliff Cross Country Invitational on Saturday morning.
HEAD COACH ROD DEHAVEN
"We are thankful for the opportunity to get a competition in this week. Our student athletes have maintained a great attitude despite the schedule changes, and they are looking forward to getting after it on Saturday."
REGIONAL RANKINGS
The SDSU men and women both find themselves inside the latest edition of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association NCAA DI Midwest region rankings. Each team was ranked 11th last week before a strong performance from the men was enough for them to jump to 10th place. The women dropped down to 12th.
LAST TIME OUT
The Jackrabbits traveled to the Gans Creek Classic, hosted by the University of Missouri last Friday. The Jackrabbit men placed 11th behind strong performances from Cashton Johnson and Jackson Dutcher, each placing inside the top 35 of the field. Meghan Ford led the way for the women, finishing in 24th place. Each squad was able to place better than several power five opponents, including Texas, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, and Nebraska.
ATHLETES TO WATCH
Tate Grabow is an athlete to watch for the men. Grabow placed 14th at the Augustana Twilight to begin the season, along with an 11th place at the St. Olaf Invitational on September 19.
For the women, Ella Boekelheide is someone to keep an eye on. The freshman is set to compete for the second time this year, after placing 16th at the Augustana Twilight on September 4.
