South Dakota State continues Summit League competition this week with a pair of matches on the road. The Jackrabbits begin their trip with a 3 p.m. game at St. Thomas on Thursday, then travel to Omaha to face the Mavericks at 1 p.m. Sunday.
The Jackrabbits split a set of home games last week at Fishback Soccer Park. SDSU lost a tough 2-1 result to Oral Roberts last Thursday, but bounced back with a 3-0 victory this past Sunday against Kansas City. SDSU's road trip completes its conference schedule versus Pod B opponents. All three teams are vying for postseason position in The Summit League standings. SDSU sits atop Pod A with a 2-1-2 record (8 points). Omaha is second in Pod B with the same record, while St. Thomas is third at 2-3 (6 points).
South Dakota State saw a 17-match unbeaten streak versus Oral Roberts end with the defeat to the Golden Eagles. The Jackrabbits led for over 60 minutes against ORU, but a 12-minute stretch that saw the visitors score two goals made the difference. SDSU continued its recent success against Kansas City with three second-half goals. The Jackrabbits are now 6-0-0 all-time at home versus the Roos and undefeated against the Roos in their last eight meetings.
The Jackrabbits are 7-3-3 overall this season. Across five conference matches, SDSU paces the league in goals against average (0.60) and save percentage (.842).
Katelyn Beulke scored two goals last week to lead the Jacks so far in conference play.
Hannah Langstaff dished out three assists and is The Summit League leader so far.
Mia Bosch is fifth in the Summit with 16 shots.
St. Thomas enters Thursday's match 3-8-1 overall after winning both its contests last week. The Jackrabbits hold a 5-0 all-time mark against the Tommies. SDSU's last trip to the Twin Cities in 2024 saw the Jacks come away with a 1-0 win thanks to a late
Adrianne Agbayani goal.
Omaha is 3-5-5 and has eight points in league action. The Jacks are 13-8-5 all-time against the Mavericks. The two sides have faced off seven times across the previous four seasons. SDSU won 1-0 over Omaha in last year's league tourney quarterfinals held in Brookings.
