BROOKINGS, S.D. - The Jacks continue their homestand by welcoming St. Thomas and Omaha to Brookings for two high-quality volleyball matches. The Jacks split five-setters against both teams earlier in the season, dropping their match against Omaha and picking up a win against St. Thomas in St. Paul. The Jacks are coming off their second Summit League loss of the season against South Dakota and will look to bounce back this week as the Summit League rolls on.
KEY STORYLINES
- South Dakota State is coming off back-to-back 20+ win seasons for the first time since 2006-2007.
- SDSU was picked to win the Summit League in the preseason poll following a 16-0 conference record in 2025.
- Hannah Klein broke the program's record for solo blocks in a three-match set in her game against Bradley with five.
- Brooke Larsen recorded the first triple-double for the Jacks since 2013 when she tallied 11 kills, 23 assists and 11 digs against Tulsa. She is one of 18 players in Division 1 to record one this season.
- Zgonc recently picked up her 1,500th kill, she is one of six Jackrabbits to ever eclipse the 1,500 kill mark. She also picked up her 1,000 dig against NDSU, one of only seven Jackrabbits to put up 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs.
- The Jacks set a First Bank & Trust/Frost Arena record against Kansas City, putting down 14 team aces, including five from Brooke Larsen on an 11-0 run to close the game.
- Taylor Byl put up a career-high 11 blocks against USD last Friday, one shy of SDSU's single-game blocks record. Her 1.26 blocks per set are first in the Summit League and 54th in the nation. She will have to be on her game again as the Mavs and Tommies come to town.
- Joslyn Richardson is closing in on 1,000 career kills. The senior from Sioux Falls currently sits at 913 career digs, 87 digs away from 1,000 in her career.
- SDSU leads the Summit League in blocks per set, averaging 2.29 blocks per set on the year.
