BROOKINGS, S.D. — South Dakota State splits between the University of South Dakota and Iowa State University on Friday afternoon for its final regular-season competition.

USD TWILIGHT
A majority of the Jackrabbits will compete at the USD Twilight Friday evening. Field events will kick off competition at 3:00 p.m., followed by track events at 3:30 p.m.

Caymen Gebheim will be throwing the discus at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Gebheim has competed unattached throughout the season, however the sophomore has managed to post impressive marks. Last time out, Gebheim competed at the Tim Marshall Open, hosted by Minnesota State Mankato, where he finished third with a mark of 181-05 (55.31m), only a couple inches off from his personal record.

Sian O'Sullivan will be one to watch in the 100-meter dash, scheduled for 5:00 p.m.. Last time out, O'Sullivan posted a time of 11.96 to finish fourth at the USD Challenge. After her 100-meter race, O'Sullivan competed in the 200-meter, where she posted a personal record of 24.47 to win the event.

CYCLONE TWILIGHT
Eight Jackrabbits will race in either the 1500-meter or 800-meter competition at the Cyclone Twilight in Ames, Iowa on Friday night. Brandon Kampsen and Joe Dustin will kick off competition in the men's 800-meter at 7:00 p.m., followed by Hannah Spoden in the women's section. Jackrabbits Nina Dawson, Emma Ecker and Nora Peterson will be competing in the women's 1500-meter race, scheduled for 8:40 p.m. The men's race will follow at 8:55 p.m., with Sean Murphy and Cade Sanvik competing for the Jacks.

Dustin will be one to keep an eye on in Ames as the sophomore will be looking to make the 800-meter top 10 list. Last time out, Dustin finished third with a time of 1:50.87, only 0.76 off from a top 10 all-time placement.

On the women's side, Dawson will be the Jackrabbit to watch. Last time out, Dawson posted a 1500-meter personal record time of 4:31.89 at the Bryan Clay Invitational. Dawson's PR is less than three seconds away from a Jackrabbit top-10 placement, as Nicole Scherr's 1500-meter run in 1990 currently sits in 10th at 4:29.25.
