ZGONC EARNS PEAK PERFORMER HONORS

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota State outside hitter Sylvie Zgonc earned the first Summit League Volleyball Peak Performer of the Week this season, league officials announced Tuesday. Zgonc earned her sixth career offensive honor.

Zgonc was named to the Asics Classic All-Tournament Team after totaling 54 kills and averaging 4.15 kills per set during the Jackrabbits' opening weekend. The Hartford, Wis., native opened her senior season with a .336 hitting percentage across three matches while adding 26 digs.

The SDSU senior recorded 23 kills and a .452 hitting percentage in a five-set match against Sacramento State. She followed with nine kills and four digs against Pepperdine before closing the weekend with 22 kills and a .340 hitting percentage in a five-set thriller against (RV) Villanova.Â
