MANHATTAN, Kan. — The South Dakota State men's golf team sits in third place through two rounds at the Kansas State Wildcat Invitational at Colbert Hills Golf Club, with the final round set for Tuesday.
Olson caught fire in the second round, carding a 69 (-3) with five birdies against two bogeys as he jumped up seven spots on the leaderboard and into the individual lead with a 141 (-3) through 36 holes.
SDSU opened with a 296 (+8) in Monday's first round before following with a 299 (+11) in the second. Their 595 (+19) team total moved the Jackrabbits up three spots into third place, trailing leader St. Thomas (Minn.) at 582 (+6) and host Kansas State at 589 (+13).
Ty Adkins is in a tie for 19th after a 73 in the first round and second-round 76, putting him at 149 (+5) for the tournament.
Jacob Wilson held steady in a tie for 36th at 152 (+8) following a 75 and 77.
Drew Teeter is in a tie for 45th at 153 (+9).
Caleb Kern shot a 157 (+13) and currently sits in a tie for 60th.
Mason Eaton, competing as an individual for the Jackrabbits is placed in 80th at 168 (+24).
