BROOKINGS, S.D. ? Chelsea Goosen scored her first two goals of the season to lead the South Dakota State women's soccer team to a 2-1 double overtime victory over the North Dakota State Bison on a wet and windy night at Fishback Soccer Park.
The win improves SDSU's record to 6-4-3. The Jackrabbits are now 4-1-1 in Summit League matches. NDSU had a five-game winning streak snapped by the Jackrabbits and is now 10-5-0. The Bison are 2-2-0 in Summit League play.
The Bison struck first when Quin Ryan scored an unassisted goal in the 21st minute of the match.
Goosen tied the match seven minutes later on her first goal of the season. Danielle Healy and Kelly Larson picked up the assists on Goosen's goal.
There was no scoring in the second half or the first overtime period.
Goosen won the game for the Jackrabbits when she scored her second goal four minutes into the second overtime period. Tory Schiltgen and Healy were credited with the assists on Goosen's game-winning goal.
Nicole Lograsso was the goalie for SDSU. She played the entire match and had six saves, while allowing one goal.
Monica Morgan was the NDSU's goalkeeper. She had four saves and allowed two goals.
The Jackrabbits out-shot the Bison 13-7. NDSU had seven shots on goal and SDSU had six shots on goal.
Kellyn Farrell led the Jackrabbits with six shots and three shots on goal. Lorraine Thompson led NDSU with four shots.
This was the final home match of the season for the Jackrabbits. They will be in action again on Oct. 26 when they play the Centenary Ladies in
