Jacks battle Iowa State to a 1-1 draw

AMES, IOWA — Sophomore Kayla Braffet scored the first goal
of the year for the South Dakota State women's soccer team as they battled Iowa
State to a 1-1 double-overtime score at the ISU Soccer Complex in Ames, Iowa Friday night.
Iowa State jumped on the board early in the first half (12:04), but the Jackrabbits battled back as Braffet redirected a cross from freshman Christa Nyblom in the 86th minute to end the scoring at 1-all.
The Jacks edged the Cyclones in shots 15-12, but trailed in shots on-goal 7-5.
Brie Rogers got the nod in-net for the Jacks, allowing one goal and making six saves.
The Jacks continue their Hawkeye state tour Sunday, when they take on the Iowa Hawkeyes at 1 p.m. at the Iowa Soccer Complex.
