LAWRENCE, Kan. — The South Dakota State women's soccer team fell to the Kansas Jayhawks 4-0 on the second day of the Kansas Invitational, held at Jayhawk Soccer Complex Sunday afternoon.
The No. 22 rated Jayhawks' jumped on the Jacks with a goal in the first minute of play and didn't look back. Kansas followed up with goals in the 20th, 56th and 70th minutes in the rout.
Kansas improves to 7-1-1 while SDSU falls to its second ranked opponent this season by a 4-0 score, and drops its overall record to 2-4-2.
Kansas native Emily Quigley led the Jacks with three shots. As a team, SDSU was outshot 22-9 including 9-3 in shots on-goal.
Brie Rogers took the loss in-net for the Jacks, allowing all four goals while making five saves.
Junior Kaitlin Justice and Freshman Christa Nyblom were named to the Kansas Invitational All-Tournament team.
The Jacks return home to face Mary (N.D.) on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Fishback Soccer Park.
