BROOKINGS, S.D.—The South Dakota State men's swimming and diving team swept three events and set two records in a 161-139 win over North Dakota Friday night in HPER Center Pool.
The Jackrabbits won the 200 breaststroke, and the one- and three-meter diving events and set a school and a pool record.
Freshman Wyatt Rumrill (Pierre) picked up the win in the 200 breaststroke (2:12.53) followed by junior Josh DeDina (2:13.59) and freshman Pierce Oja (Billings, Mont.). Rumrill also won the 100-meter breaststroke (59.52) with Oja finishing second (1:00.22).
Freshman Joseph Weber (Omaha) won the one-meter (282.3) and the three-meter (275.10) diving events. Junior Noah Batenhorst (Omaha) was second on the one meter (277.42) and third on the three meter (268.80) while sophomore Parker Brown (Cambridge, Minn.) was third on the one meter (268.27) and second on the three meter (271.50).
Senior Ben Bolinske (Williston, N.D.) won the 50 free (20.90) and broke the pool record in the 100 free (46.43). He teamed with junior Tony Mikrut (Tinley Park, Ill.), junior Daniel Jacobson (Pierre) and senior Ben Johnson (Williston, N.D.) to set the school record in the 200 freestyle relay (1:23.89). Bolinske, Mikrut, Jacobson and sophomore Christopher Rumrill (Pierre) won the 400 medley relay (3:29.15).
Senior Garth Wadsworth (Durban, South Africa) rounded out the individual victories for the Jacks, winning the 200 free (1:43.89).
The Jackrabbits return to action Dec. 4-5 at the Jean Freeman Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn.
