The South Dakota State swimming and diving team sits in seventh place with 40 points on the men's side through day one at the Hawkeye Invitational.
"Good first day with season-best times on just a little rest," said head coach
Doug Humphrey. "We continue to get better and expect an even better day tomorrow."
The first of the three-day invite consisted of 12 events, including a season best performance for the men. Women's diving didn't earn any points after day one of competition. Minnesota currently leads the women's side with 333 points while the men's side is paced by Iowa (251).
Men's Relay
- SDSU finished the 200 free relay in a season-best 1:25.34 (Brenner, Watkins, Angerhofer, Skinner).
- The 400 medley relay team finished in 17th (3:33.60).

The Jacks return to the pool Friday morning for day two of the Hawkeye Invitational. Swimming preliminaries begin at 10 a.m. followed by diving preliminaries at 1 p.m. and then final competition at 6 p.m.
