The South Dakota State men's golf team returns to the links this weekend when it plays in the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate, presented by Cleveland Golf, in Palm Desert, California.
The three-day, 54-hole event is at the Classic Club, a par 72, 7,322-yard layout, with 18 holes played Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Each day will be a double-tee start off of holes 1 and 10 at 9 a.m.
Competing alongside the Jackrabbits are No. 14 Texas Tech, No. 15 California, No. 21 UCLA, No. 28 Tennessee, No. 36 Kansas, No. 40 TCU, Southern Utah, Southern Illinois, Boise State, Denver, Idaho, Stephen F. Austin, Arkansas-Little Rock, Loyola Marymount, UC Riverside, Colorado, Nebraska, Old Dominion, Wyoming, Wichita State and Texas-Arlington.
Then-No. 10 Oregon won last year's event, finishing the three-day tournament shooting an 838 (282-271-285). The Ducks' Wyndham Clark, last year's top-ranked NCAA individual, shot an 11-under par 205 (72-65-68) for medalist honors.
The Jackrabbits tied for 15
th with an 893. Sophomore
Alejandro Restrepo tied for 50
th, firing a 223 (79-71-73).
Junior
Alejandro Perazzo leads the Jackrabbits with a 74.71 stroke average in 17 rounds. Restrepo is second (75.71).
