GAME 22: South Dakota State (17-3-1) vs. No. 4 Pepperdine (15-3-1) - NCAA College Cup First Round |
The South Dakota State soccer team will open play in the first round of the 2021 Women's College Cup against No. 4 seed Pepperdine Saturday. Kickoff from Tari Frahm Rokus Field in Malibu is set for noon (PT)/2 p.m. (CT) with the winner advancing to play either South Florida or North Carolina State in the second round.
E-tickets will cost $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $5 for children. Patrons must purchase tickets prior to arriving on campus through the Pepperdine ticket office.
This will mark the first-ever meeting between South Dakota State and Pepperdine and the first game played within the state of California in program history.
"Part of the NCAA Tournament is getting to play new teams in different locations," head coach Brock Thompson said. "Getting to go to California and play this game is a great opportunity for our program, but I think our team is more looking forward to challenging ourselves against a good opponent. We know that those games and those environments are where special things can happen. Our players will be prepared and they'll approach it with the right mindset."
