GAME 20: South Dakota State (15-3-1, 6-2-1, SUMMIT) vs. Omaha (9-7-2, 6-3-0 SUMMIT) - Summit League Semifinals |
South Dakota State will head to the 2021 Summit League Women's Soccer Tournament, hosted by the University of Denver, as the No. 2 seed after finishing the regular season with a 15-3-1 (6-2-1 SUMMIT) record. SDSU and No. 3 Omaha will square off for the second time in less than a week when they meet Thursday, Nov. 4 at 5 p.m. CT in the semifinals.
"The familiarity, I think, is a challenge," head coach Brock Thompson said. "I think it evens things out a little bit. It means that the opportunities and plays that change the course of the game are probably going to be fewer. There's a lot of familiarity between the four teams at the conference tournament based on the last week of the regular season because we all played each other and I think it is going to make for an exciting week of soccer here in Denver."
The winner of Thursday's contest will take on the winner of No. 1 Denver and No. 4 South Dakota in Saturday's championship game at 3 p.m. CT, with the champion earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
All three games at the Summit League Championship will be streamed free of charge at thesummitleague.org/watch.
