ELKHORN, Neb. - The South Dakota State men's golf team finished in ninth place Tuesday at the Big O Classic at Indian Creek Golf Course. Jonah Dohrer ended the tournament in a five-way tie for 16th place to lead the Jackrabbits.
After the first two rounds the Jackrabbits were tied for fourth place but slipped to ninth during the final 18 holes. The team carded a 308 (+20) Tuesday and tallied an 887 (+23) final team score. This is the best team placing and best score to par for the Jacks this season.Â
Dohrer put together a 77 (+5) final round, bringing his three-round total to 219 (+3). Luke Honner tied for 22nd place (221, +5), Matthew Schaefer tied for 30th (223, +7) and Tyler Seeling tied for 55th place (227, +11). Noah Boraas rounded out the lineup in a tie for 84th place (235, ).
Schaefer recorded 39 par holes at the tournament which led all players. Dohrer had 37 par holes, the third highest total. Honner collected 13 birdies, matching the highest birdie total with four other players.
Tucker D'Allaird competed individually for State. He finished in a tie for 84th place (235, +19).

A few Jackrabbit individuals will play in the USF Invitational October 10-11 in Larchwood, Iowa. The team wraps up the fall season at the Iowa Fall Classic October 16-17 in Iowa City, Iowa.
