SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The South Dakota State men's golf team posted the third best team score in the final round of the Desert Mountain Collegiate hosted by Michigan Sunday. SDSU finished tied for 11th overall and
Jonah Dohrer was the top finisher tying for 34th at +9.
After round two was suspended due to darkness Saturday, Dohrer played out his final two holes of the round this morning with a pair of birdies. Dohrer carded a 71 (-1) in the third round to total a 225 (+9).
Matthew Schaefer ended the event tied for 46th at +12.
Liam Georgiadis was the next best Jackrabbit golfer, posting a 73 (+1) in the final round to finish at +13.
Jack Tanner and
Ty Kretz both improved by double-digit strokes from their second-round score, posting matching 73's (+1). Tanner finished +14 while Kretz was +21.
NOTES
- Schaefer tied for second among the field in par-5 scoring, averaging 4.58 stroke per par-5 hole.
- Dohrer and Schaefer had one eagle each.
- Tanner tallied 11 birdies on the weekend.
