BROOKINGS, S.D. — The South Dakota State men's basketball team returns to action in Frost Arena Tuesday when the Jackrabbits play host to Kent State. Tipoff is scheduled for approximately 8:15 p.m., following the women's basketball matchup between SDSU and Washington State. Â
Â
The SDSU men extended their win streak to three games this past Friday with a 61-48 victory over Towson in Sioux Falls at the Sanford Pentagon. South Dakota State improved to 9-8 all-time in the Pentagon. The Jackrabbits improved to 4-4 overall this year while dropping the Tigers to 3-5 overall.Â
Â
The Jacks used a dominating defensive and interior performance in a winning effort. SDSU held the Tigers to a season-low 27.6% clip from the field. The Jackrabbits also outscored the Tigers 36-18 in the paint. The 48 points given up by SDSU was the lowest output by a Division I opponent since Nov. 28, 2018, when SDSU earned a 75-47 victory over Kansas City in Brookings.
Â
South Dakota State is 2-1 at home this season entering Tuesday's contest. The Jackrabbits have three home games remaining in 2023. SDSU hosts Mayville State on Dec. 14 and begins conference play in Frost Arena on New Year's Eve versus North Dakota.
Â
SDSU's preseason all-conference honorees in
Zeke Mayo,
Luke Appel and

The Mid-American Conference champions and NCAA Tournament participants a season ago scored the game's first 11 points and never trailed. Kent State, which was picked second in this year's MAC Preseason Coaches' Poll behind Akron, is 5-3 this season.
