SOUTH PITTSBURG, Tenn. - The South Dakota State men's golf team finished in fifth place at the Sweetens Cove Intercollegiate Tuesday.
The Jackrabbits started the day completing their match against Murray State, then moved on on compete against Samford in the fifth-place match.
The Murray State match was suspended due to darkness Monday, then completed Tuesday. SDSU won 5-0-1 over the Racers.
Luke Honner dominated his matchup with Trey Lewis, winning 5 & 4.
Ty Kretz won by a 3 & 2 score.
Bryson Mercier,
Tyler Seeling and
Blake Schaper's matches all came down to the final hole and all were victorious.
Jonah Dohrer fell, 3 & 2.
The final match against Samford was shortened to just nine holes due to weather. The Jacks again won, 5-0-1. Dohrer led the way with a four-up win, followed by Honner and Kretz, who both finished three-up. Seeling and Schaper also won, while Mercier finished down-two.
