MESA, Ariz. - Powered by a trio of top-ten individuals, the South Dakota State women's golf team sits in second place following the first round of the Summit League Championship.
Shakira-Ann Kuys,
Piper Stubbs and
McKenzie Mages sit in the top ten through 18 holes. Kuys fired a 72 (+1) Sunday and is tied for fourth place while Stubbs and Mages are one shot back, tied for eighth place (73, +2).
Reese Jansa finished the day in a tie for 17th place with a 78 (+7) first-round score.
Molly O'Hara is in 30th place (80, +9).
As a team, SDSU recorded a 296 (+12) tally for the opening lap. The Jackrabbits are one shot ahead of North Dakota State and two strokes ahead of Oral Roberts. Denver has a ten-shot lead at the top of the leaderboard.
The Jackrabbits recorded par on 55 holes, the second most of all teams Sunday.
UP NEXT
SDSU will tee off in the first group with Denver beginning at 7 a.m. MST Monday. The second round will be played Monday and the final round is scheduled for Tuesday.
