BROOKINGS, S.D. - The South Dakota State volleyball team released its full 2026 schedule this week, which includes four opponents that played in the 2025 NCAA Tournament and 11 total home matches.
Following exhibition matches at Iowa State and at home against Southwest Minnesota State, SDSU officially opens the season on the road at Pepperdine's tournament in Malibu, California. The Jackrabbits will take on Sacramento State, Pepperdine and Villanova August 28-30. The Jackrabbits then return to Brookings to host Nebraska for their home opener on Wednesday, September 2 at First Bank & Trust Arena, followed by the SDSU Invitational presented by Canine Country Club September 4-5. SDSU hosts Western Illinois, Northern Arizona and Bradley in that stretch.
The Jacks take on Kansas on September 11 and Tulsa on September 12, both at Kansas. SDSU's non-conference slate wraps up against Washington and Minnesota in Sioux Falls at the previously announced South Dakota Lottery College Volleyball Classic at the Sanford Pentagon.
The Summit League volleyball schedule is set to begin the week of September 21 and will feature a double round-robin format over eight weeks. The Jackrabbits open the conference season with three games on the road - at South Dakota (September 25), at Omaha (October 1) and at St. Thomas (October 3). SDSU hosts Kansas City and Oral Roberts on October 8 and October 10, respectively, for the first home weekend of the Summit League schedule. The first half of the conference slate wraps up in North Dakota at North Dakota State (October 15) and North Dakota (October 17).
The Jacks will host South Dakota in another Friday night matchup October 23, then St. Thomas (October 29) and Omaha (October 31) visit First Bank & Trust Arena the following weekend. SDSU goes to Oral Roberts on November 5 and Kansas City on November 7. North Dakota (November 12) and North Dakota State (November 14) at First Bank & Trust Arena are the final games on the regular season schedule.
South Dakota State will host the Summit League Championship at First Bank & Trust Arena for the second straight season.
South Dakota State went 23-5 in 2025, including a 16-0 mark during the Summit League regular season. The Jackrabbits repeated as the Summit League regular season champion and earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season.
