The South Dakota State University men's swimming and diving team set three pool records en route to a 199-98 dual victory over the University of South Dakota Friday at the Marshall Center Pool.
The Jackrabbits, who improved to 4-1 in duals this season, opened the meet by setting a pool record in the 400-yard medley relay. The quartet of Daniel Jacobson, Wyatt Rumrill, Garth Wadsworth and Ben Bolinske clocked a winning time of 3 minutes, 27.21 seconds to set a new home standard.
Bolinske accounted for two individual pool records as his leadoff 50-yard time of 20.80 seconds in the 200 freestyle relay eclipsed his own pool-record time by .01 seconds. Earlier in the meet, Bolinske swept the sprints by posting respective winning times of 20.95 seconds and a pool-record 46.23 seconds in the 50 and 100.
Jacobson, Wadsworth and Chris Angerhofer also were two-time individual winners for the Jackrabbits. Jacobson swept the backstroke events with winning times of 52.11 seconds in the 100 and 1:52.03 in the 200.
Wadsworth earned his victories in the butterfly events, winning the 100 in 52.51 seconds and the 200 in 1:54.74. Angerhofer paced SDSU in the distance events, claiming the 500 freestyle in 4:42.77 and winning the 1,000 in 10:00.04 as the Jackrabbits claimed the top three spots in the latter event.
In all, the Jackrabbits won 14 of 16 events contested. Other winners in the swimming events for SDSU were Wyatt Rumrill in the 200 breaststroke, 2:09.27, and Chris Rumrill in the 200 individual medley, 1:57.90.
