MADISON, Wisconsin—Senior
Grant Smith finished in the top 15 and the South Dakota State men's golf team placed ninth Tuesday at the 2016 Badger Invitational.
The Jackrabbits finished the three-round tournament with an 886 (294-301-291) on the par-72, 7,259-yard University Ridge Golf Course. Iowa State won the event, shooting a 10-under par 852 (286-288-278). Wofford's Andrew Novak was medalist, firing an eight-under par 208 (69-69-70).
Smith shot a final round 72 with four birdies to tie for 12th (73-71-72=216).
Junior
Naqiuddin Fuad tied for 27
th, shooting a 221 (74-74-72). Sophomore
Jaxon Lynn shot a 224 (72-80-72) to tie for 39
th.
Sophomore
Alejandro Perazzo tied for 53rd, shooting a 228 (75-79-74) and freshman
Alejandro Restrepo fired a 231 (77-77-77) to tie for 64th.
Playing as an individual, senior
Trevor Tobin finished 81
st (78-82-87=247).
The Jackrabbits return to action Sept. 19-20 when they travel to Fort Collins, Colorado, for the Ram Master hosted by Colorado State.
