After a two-week layoff, the South Dakota State men's golf team returns to action when it hosts the 8
th annual Jackrabbit Invitational March 10-11 in Las Vegas.
The Jackrabbits host the 11-team field at the par-72, 6,843-yard Siena Golf Club. The field includes: Creighton, CSU-Fullerton, Hawai'i, Long Beach State, North Dakota State, South Dakota, Southern Utah, UNLV, Utah State and Weber State.
SDSU is the defending champion, shooting a three-over par 867 (286-287-294) last year. Junior
Zach Sackett tied for 15
th, firing a 219 (80-70-69) to lead the returners.
In their last outing, the Jackrabbits finished tied for 15th at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate in Palm Beach, Calif., Feb. 17-19. Freshman
Alejandro Restrepo led the team, tying for 50
th with a 223 (79-71-73).
Senior
Grant Smith leads South Dakota State with a 74.62 stroke average. He has six rounds at par or below and ranks 11th in The Summit League.
Restrepo has a top-10 finish and a 74.70 stroke average. Sophomore
Jaxon Lynn sports a 75.39 stroke average with a top-five and top-10 finish and six rounds at or below par.
The Jackrabbits have a 299.43 stroke average and rank fifth in The Summit League.
