OMAHA, Neb. – Two second-half goals lifted South Dakota State (15-2-1, 6-1-1 SUMMIT) past Omaha (8-7-2, 5-3-0 SUMMIT) on a beautiful Friday evening at Caniglia Field.
Avery Murdzek turned in the game-winner in the 80
th minute on what might be the Jacks' goal of the year to give SDSU a 2-1 victory over the Mavericks.
Teani Arakawa scored her fifth goal of the season in the contest while the go-ahead goal marked Murdzek's sixth of the year and second in the last three games.

Katherine Jones all registered an assist in the winning effort.

Jocelyn Tanner (11-2-1) made four saves in the victory for the Jacks.
SDSU struggled to generate opportunities in the opening half having been out shot 7-3 with only one shot on goal. The referee's whistle was heard often in the first 45 minutes with 17 total fouls being called.
The Jacks trailed at the break after Omaha struck first in the 26
th minute on a goal from Sophia Green, but came back to flip the script in the final 45 minutes.
Arakawa brought the Jacks level in the 52
nd minute when she took a pass from Hansen, split a pair of Omaha defenders and placed the ball into the bottom left corner of the net.
Tanner came through with a timely save in the 64
th minute when she flashed her reflexes to deny a Maverick shot from close range.
Murdzek's go-head goal came in the 80
th minute after she took a pass from Jones, took one touch towards the middle of the field and fired a shot from distance that bounced off the top woodwork and in.
Possession was split evenly, but Omaha out shot the Jacks, 19-8. It was a physical contest with 25 fouls given in the game, including two yellow cards to separate Mavericks in the second half.

- The 2-1 Jackrabbit win in regulation broke a streak of three consecutive 0-0 ties between the schools.
- This marked SDSU's 15th win of the season, tied for the most in a single season in program history.
- South Dakota State trailed at halftime for just the third time all season.
- Avery Murdzek extended her point streak to four games with her second game-winner of the season. The freshman has two goals and two assists in the last four contests.

- Maya Hansen recorded her 30th point of the season with an assist on SDSU's first goal of the game. She becomes just the third Jackrabbit in program history, and first since 2001, to record 30 points in a season.
