South Dakota State soccer kicks off its fall 2021 regular season against Augustana Friday at 6 p.m. at Fishback Soccer Park. The Jacks will then close out their home weekend with a noon matchup against UTRGV on Sunday.

NEWS & NOTES
- SDSU was picked to finish second in the Summit League Preseason Coaches' Poll, while Maya Hansen and Rachel Preston were named to the league's Players to Watch list.
- South Dakota State enters the fall 2021 season after a spring campaign that saw the Jacks record an unbeaten 12-0-5 record. SDSU finished the regular season second in the Summit League.
- A majority of SDSU's spring 2021 production returns to the roster this fall in key areas such as goals (96%), points (88%), assists (71%) and saves (100%).
- SDSU participated in one preseason exhibition against Kansas State and looked good while getting much of the roster's depth involved. A goal from Cece Limongi (assist: Teani Arakawa) in the 43rd minute gave the Jacks a 1-0 lead until the Wildcats netted a pair of goals in the final 10 minutes to win.
- SDSU outscored its opponents 29-5 and logged 11 shutouts in the spring. The Jacks' .706 shutout percentage led the Summit League and ranked sixth nationally.
- South Dakota State has recorded at least 10 wins in eight consecutive seasons, the longest streak of double-digit wins in the Summit League. The Jacks boast more 10-win seasons (10) than any other league school since 2010 and have amassed at least 10 wins in 12 of the last 13 seasons.
- The Jackrabbit goalies and defenders posted a 0.279 goals-against average, the second-best mark in the country last season.
- Returning forward Eden Brooker finished the spring 2021 season with four game-winning goals, the most in the Summit League and 10th-most nationally.
- Brock Thompson enters his fifth season at the helm of the Jackrabbit soccer program. Thompson's squads have surpassed 10 wins in each of his first four seasons.
- The Jacks have historically been tough to beat at home, and SDSU has continued that trend under Thompson.
- All-time home record: 119-42-21 (.712)
- Home record under Thompson: 31-3-4 (.868)
- SDSU is 1-2-1 in season-openers under Thompson.
- SDSU has finished no worse than second place in the Summit League under Thompson's guidance.
- Seven newcomers are on the squad this season: Laney Murdzek (F), Avery Murdzek (MF), Kennedy Sanders (MF), Jenna Hotovy (D), Hannah King (D), Mykena Turner (D) and Teani Arakawa (F/MF).
