O'AHU, HAWAII – South Dakota State (3-0-0) exploded for six goals and 23 shots against Idaho State (0-2-1) in a match that was delayed nearly an hour due to a lack of officials. The Jacks adjusted and recorded their first clean sheet of the season with a 6-0 victory over the Bengals.
Maya Hansen scored twice, her second multi-goal game of the season, while
Taylor Lock recorded two saves to preserve her second career shutout.
Cece Limongi netted a goal and notched an assist in an impressive individual performance.
Kayla Wisniewski,
Laney Murdzek and
Maureen Tolley each found the back of the net in the match as well. For Tolley, it was her first-career goal.
Marisa Schulz earned a point with an assist in the match while
Avery Murdzek registered two assists.
Hansen broke open the scoring in the seventh minute with her fourth goal of the season off an assist from
Cece Limongi.
Laney Murdzek rounded out the scoring in the first half with an unassisted goal in the 24
th minute.
The Jacks exploded for four goals in the second half, starting with Wisniewski's in the 58
th minute. In the 74
th minute, within seconds of each other, Hansen found the back of the net for the second time followed by Limongi's goal. Tolley closed out the scoring with her goal in the 88
th minute.
