South Dakota State hits the road for its final non-conference matchup of the 2023 season on Friday when the Jackrabbits take on Creighton at 5 p.m. at the Bluejays' Morrison Stadium in Omaha. The Jacks enter the contest with a 7-1 overall record while Creighton stands at 1-2-4.Â

The Jackrabbits and Bluejays are slated to clash in their 18th all-time meeting. Creighton holds the series lead with a 14-2-1 mark over SDSU. The Bluejays held a three-match win streak prior to last season's matchup. SDSU picked up its first victory in the series in the 11th meeting between the teams and the Jacks' last victory came in 2017.Â

The two sides met last year in Brookings on Sept. 11 and competed to a 1-1 draw at Fishback Soccer Park.
Kayla Anderson scored a goal in the 51st minute on an assist by
Lauren Eckerle for the Jacks, while Creighton scored the equalizer thanks to a Hailey Rothwell goal in the 70th minute. Creighton had a 15-7 edge in shots while SDSU had a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Creighton picked up its first victory of its season its last time out. The Bluejays earned a 3-2 victory over NDSU in Fargo on Sept. 10. Abigail Santana paces Creighton in scoring with three goals and seven points, while Azumi Manriki has a team-high 14 shots. Keelan Terrell has been in goal for all seven matches for the Bluejays. She has a 1.86 goals against average and .727 saves percentage.Â

Six Jackrabbits have scored multiple goals this season, excluding
Maya Hansen who left the Grand Canyon match due to injury and still sits atop SDSU's scoring chart in multiple categories. The Jacks do have two scorers with three goals in
Avery Murdzek and
Jadenn Carrillo.
Laney Murdzek has a team-high five assists and
Avery LeBlanc follows her with three assists.Â

Multiple Jackrabbits were recognized this past week for their efforts of late.
Jocelyn Tanner was honored as the TicketSmarter Summit League Defensive Peak Performer of the Week. She made seven saves en route to two clean sheets for the Jackrabbits in goal.
Kaycee Manding was named to TopDrawer Soccer's Team of the Week for her play on the back row in those two victories. Manding has played a team-high 663 minutes while anchoring a defense that leads The Summit League with a .750 goals against average.

The Jackrabbits have won three consecutive matches since picking up their first loss of the season on Sept. 1 at Utah State. SDSU is coming off a homestand which featured a 1-0 victory over Grand Canyon and 5-0 win against Green Bay.Â

South Dakota State sits among the nation's best in several categories early this season. The Jackrabbits are tied with six other teams with national-best seven victories. The Jacks rank fifth in the country in total assists (26) and is 19th in scoring offense (3.00).
