The Summit League schedule has begun as South Dakota State makes its conference season debut on Sunday. The Jackrabbit women's soccer team makes the trek to Omaha to take on the Mavericks at Caniglia Field with first kick set for 1 p.m.

SDSU takes a 7-2-1 overall record into league play. The Jackrabbits opened the 2024 season with a 1-2 record, but are currently on a seven-match unbeaten streak. SDSU has outscored its opponents 19-4 in the span and has scored in seven consecutive halves. The Jacks are 16-1-1 all-time in Summit League openers, however face an Omaha team that went 6-1-2 (.778) during its non-conference schedule. The Mavs began Summit League action on Thursday at home with a 1-1 draw against North Dakota State.

Brock Thompson earned his 100th victory as head coach at South Dakota State, with his staff of
Andy Janssen and
Caylee Costello alongside him in their eighth season, last Thursday against USC Upstate. Thompson's squads have compiled a 100-27-21 (.747) during his time guiding the program.

A variety of trends have emerged following 10 matches this season. SDSU is 7-0 this year when scoring two-plus goals, while the Jacks are 6-1-1 when holding foes to one goal or less. SDSU is among the nation's best in several categories. The Jacks have given themselves plenty of scoring opportunities. They rank third in the country in corner kicks per game (9.1) and 11th in shots per game (20.4). SDSU is also eighth in fouls per game (6.0).

Kaycee Manding (853) and
Hayley Lindaman (832) have spent the most time on the pitch this season.
Katelyn Beulke paces SDSU's scoring with 10 points. She sits ahead of
Avery LeBlanc who has a career-high four goals and eight points.
Katherine Jones leads SDSU with a career-high five assists. Goalkeepers
Emma Knack and
Stephanie Leckwold have combined for a 0.70 goals against average and .825 saves percentage.

The Jackrabbits and Mavs have been formidable adversaries of late. The two foes have met in the last four Summit League Tournaments. Last season, the Jacks and Mavs tied 1-1 in Brookings before SDSU won the conference title. Omaha defeated SDSU 1-0 in the 2022 tourney en route to a Summit championship.
