South Dakota State continues its Summit League slate at home this week with a pair of matches. The Jackrabbits face North Dakota on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Fishback Soccer Park. SDSU then hosts North Dakota State at 1 p.m. on Sunday in Brookings.Â
SDSU is currently on a nine-match unbeaten streak. During the Jackrabbits' current stretch of four consecutive victories, State has outscored its opponents 15-3. South Dakota State is 4-0-1 during a span in which it's been home for six of seven contests. That is the same record the Jackrabbits have at Fishback Soccer Park this season.Â
SDSU improved to 7-1-3 overall in its Summit League opener last Thursday. The Jackrabbits claimed a 6-0 shutout over St. Thomas. SDSU scored three minutes into the match and never looked back. The six goals, along with eight assists, led to 20 points. That output is the most by the program in a conference match since 2010.
The Jackrabbits welcome foes from the 701 State this week. North Dakota first visits on Thursday with a 6-4-2 record. The Fighting Hawks opened the league slate with a 1-0 loss at the hands of Denver, followed by a scoreless draw versus Omaha. SDSU defeated UND 3-0 last season in Grand Forks. The Jacks are 15-3-1 all-time against North Dakota and have won the last eight meetings.
North Dakota State, which visits South Dakota first Thursday, is 4-8-0 this season. The Bison opened league play with defeats to Omaha (1-0) and Denver (2-1) last week. NDSU topped SDSU 1-0 in Fargo last season and eventually was the Summit League regular season champion. SDSU is 17-12-3 in the all-time series.
Mia Bosch was honored as the Kwik Star Offensive Peak Performer of the Week by The Summit League. It was her first career weekly award. Bosch is one of four Jackrabbits with double-digit point totals joining
