MADISON, Wis. - The South Dakota State women's soccer team went neck and neck with Wisconsin to a scoreless double-overtime draw Friday in Madison, Wis.
Junior Kayla Braffet led the Jackrabbits with three shots, including two on goal. The Jackrabbits had only six shots compared to Wisconsin's eight. Both teams tallied four shots on-goal.
Goalkeeper Elisa Stamatakis minded the net for all 110 minutes, managing four saves, her second career shutout and a 2-0-1 record.
"We played a terrific game tonight against a hard-nosed team. I felt we were a bit unlucky not to win because we had a lot of good attacking chances," head coach Lang Wedemeyer said. "Elisa came up big in the second overtime with two criticial saves to keep them off the board. It was a tremendous effort for 110 minutes."
The Jacks, now with a 2-1-2 record on the season, travel to Green Bay, Wis. to face Wisconsin-Green Bay Sunday at 1 p.m. at Aldo Santaga Stadium.
