South Dakota State is set to play its final two home games of the 2021 season Friday and Sunday against North Dakota State and North Dakota, respectively. The Jacks will put their 30-game home unbeaten streak on the line against the Bison and Fighting Hawks.

"It's always a fun game when SDSU and NDSU meet on the soccer field," head coach Brock Thompson said. "We don't expect anything different on Friday. I think it's going to be a really fun night at Fishback."

SDSU will honor its four seniors - Eden Brooker, Adalaide Kline, Marisa Schulz and Kaitlin Zabel - prior to Sunday's game.

"North Dakota could easily be coming into this trip 3-0," Thompson said. "They've lost a couple of very close games and got beat by NDSU in the final minutes. This is the point in the season where you start to see a little bit of desperation from teams chasing points and the conference tournament. When you get to that point in the season, you have to expect the unexpected. North Dakota is traditionally a hard team to plan for because they will switch things up quite a bit... that makes it a difficult matchup on Sunday."

News & Notes

SDSU's seven-game win streak was snapped Sunday after the Jacks fought to a 1-1 draw at Oral Roberts. The Jacks are still riding an eight-game unbeaten streak, however.
The Jacks are outscoring their opponents 20-3 over the streak and are outscoring opponents 38-8 on the season.
SDSU has gone 30 consecutive home matches without a loss. The Jacks' last loss at Fishback Soccer Park happened September 10th, 2018 against Arizona State.
The Jacks have been applying consistent pressure throughout the season in its attacking third. SDSU ranks eighth in the nation in corner kicks, averaging 7.93 a game. With 111 corner kicks on the year, the Jacks need just five more to break the single-season program record.
SDSU is 35-2-6 in Summit League games under Brock Thompson (five seasons).
The Jackrabbits' identity has historically been its stingy defense but own the No. 18 scoring offense in the nation this season, averaging 2.71 goals per game.
SDSU ranks 12th nationally in goals (38) and 19th in total points (105).
Maya Hansen has scored a goal in four consecutive matches and is tied for the most goals in the Summit League with 11 on the season. She has four game-winning goals this year, tied for the sixth-most in a season in program history.
Hansen's 11 goals rank sixth nationally and her 25 points are the 11th-most in the country this season.
Jocelyn Tanner (8-1-1) entered the season with zero career shutouts and has six this season, a top-25 mark nationally.
16 different Jacks have tallied a point this year, tied for the second-most by an SDSU squad in program history.
The Jacks enter the weekend with seven home wins on the year. With wins against NDSU and UND, SDSU can break the program record for home wins in a season.
SDSU's .562 goals against average ranks 20th in the nation. Defender Rachel Preston leads the Jacks in minutes with 1,177 on the year.
