South Dakota State opens Summit League play as it hosts Western Illinois and St. Thomas Friday and Sunday, respectively, at Fishback Soccer Park. The Jackrabbits are coming off an open weekend, but have won four-straight games, including three consecutive shutouts.

Western Illinois, who was projected to finish last in the coaches' preseason poll, ranks second thus far in the standings with an 6-2-1 record and brings a seven-game unbeaten streak to Brookings. The first-place Jackrabbits look to defend their 28-game home unbeaten streak against the Leathernecks. Friday's matchup will feature two of the Summit League's top scorers this season in SDSU's Maya Hansen and WIU's Amy Andrews, each with seven goals on the year.

St. Thomas, which is in its first season after transitioning to the Division I level, will meet SDSU for the first time in program history Sunday afternoon.

South Dakota State swept week six conference honors as Jocelyn Tanner and Eden Brooker were named the TicketSmarter Summit League Women's Soccer Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, respectively.
The Jackrabbits have not allowed a goal in over 335 minutes of game action.
SDSU's nine wins through 10 games are the most in program history.
The Jackrabbits entered the week ranked eighth in the United Soccer Coaches Poll West Region, up one spot from ninth a week ago.
SDSU is 18-0-2 in its last 20 home Summit League contests. (Last loss: 2016 vs. IUPUI)
Jocelyn Tanner (5-1) made three saves to secure her third consecutive shutout Monday against Air Force. The sophomore goalkeeper entered the season with zero career shutouts and already has four this season.
Eden Brooker tallied the game-winner in SDSU's victory over Air Force in the 69th minute. Historically, Brooker has delivered when needed with six of her seven career goals serving as a game-winner.
South Dakota State is outscoring opponents 31-6 this season.
SDSU ranks 11th nationally in goals (31), 12th in points (88) and 21st in assists (26). The Jackrabbits' identity has historically been its stingy defense but own the No. 12 scoring offense in the nation this season, averaging 3.10 goals per game.
Jackrabbit freshmen have accounted for 33 of SDSU's 88 points this season, good for 38% of the squad's offensive output.
Avery Murdzek and Laney Murdzek have either scored or assisted on 15 of SDSU's 31 goals this season. The freshmen duo has accounted for 23 of the Jacks' 88 points.
South Dakota State has recorded at least 10 wins in eight consecutive seasons, the longest streak of double-digit wins in the Summit League. The Jacks boast more 10-win seasons (10) than any other league school since 2010 and have amassed at least 10 wins in 12 of the last 13 seasons.
